Mr. Gerton is also an experienced mediator, listed on the approved practitioner rosters for the Circuit Courts for Montgomery and Frederick Counties and the District Court for Montgomery County.
He is a frequent author and guest speaker in the area of education law, including recent programs sponsored by the Maryland State Bar Association, CHADD (Children and Adults with ADHD) and Xtraordinary Minds. Mr. Gerton is an active member of CHADD’s Public Policy Committee and serves on the Board of Directors of the nonprofit Team Up For 1.
Previously, Mr. Gerton worked on behalf of classes of college students in several nationwide class actions, including seminal student-athlete cases In re: NCAA Student-Athlete Name & Likeness Licensing Litigation, Agnew v. NCAA, Rock v. NCAA and Lightbourne v. Printroom.
He earned his juris doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law, his bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester and completed postgraduate training at William and Mary Law School’s Institute of Special Education Advocacy.
